Generational sin doesn't have to be a life sentence. Often, you see things like drug abuse and alcoholism grip a family for generations. The second commandment tells us not to make any idols, but what people often overlook is that an idol is anything draws your attention and worship away from God. But when you put your hope and trust in God, you can break those curses.
God calls us to lead a quiet and peaceful life. This doesn't mean weak or powerless, but with a confidence and boldness in Christ, living unaffected by circumstances of the world.
